The NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament, also known as March Madness, is reaching its climax as the University of Connecticut (UConn) Huskies and Purdue Boilermakers face off in the championship game on April 3, 2023. Both teams have earned the top seed in their respective regions and have been impressive throughout the tournament.

UConn, coached by Dan Hurley, entered the tournament as the favorite to defend their title after winning the Big East Conference championship with a perfect 18-0 record. The Huskies have lived up to expectations, winning their first five games with an average margin of victory of 25 points. Their impressive performances include a 99-84 victory over Gonzaga in the Elite Eight, where they showcased their depth and versatility.

On the other hand, Purdue, led by Matt Painter, has been a force to reckon with this season. The Boilermakers clinched the Big Ten Conference championship with a record of 16-2 and entered the tournament as a top seed for the first time since 1980. In their first five games, they have averaged a winning margin of 14 points, with their most notable victory being a 69-60 triumph over Kansas in the Elite Eight.

One player that has stood out for Purdue is their dominant 7-foot-4 center, Zach Edey. Edey has been a double-double machine throughout the season, averaging 20.3 points and 10.6 rebounds per game. In the Elite Eight against Kansas, he recorded a double-double with 23 points and 14 rebounds.
