S’wak approves RM4 mln to improve Sg Tujoh ICQS, implement multiple entry point system

The Sarawak government has recently approved a RM4 million allocation to improve the facilities at Sungai Tujoh Immigration, Customs, Quarantine and Security ICQS Complex (ICQS) in Kuching, Malaysia. This funding will be used to implement a multiple entry point system, which aims to reduce congestion and improve the efficiency of immigration and customs clearance processes at the complex.

According to Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun, there has been an increase in the number of people using Sungai Tujoh ICQS due to its strategic location as a major entry point for international travelers arriving in Malaysia. This congestion has led to long queues and delays in immigration and customs clearance processes, resulting in dissatisfaction among travelers and border security concerns.

To address these issues, the Sarawak government has decided to implement a multiple entry point system at Sungai Tujoh ICQS. This will involve setting up additional entry points at different locations within the complex, allowing for more efficient distribution of visitors and reducing congestion at the main entrance. The funding allocated for this project will also be used to improve the facilities at the complex, including upgrading infrastructure, increasing staffing levels, and implementing new technology to streamline immigration and customs clearance processes.

Overall, the implementation of a multiple entry point system and improvements to the facilities at Sungai Tujoh ICQS will help to address the congestion and improve the efficiency of immigration and customs clearance processes at this important entry point for international travelers in Malaysia.
