Mnangagwa's govt makes another empty promise to rehabilitate roads in other cities, towns

The government of Zimbabwe, led by President Emmerson Mnangagwa, has made another promise to rehabilitate and construct roads in major cities and towns across the country. This announcement comes after years of neglect by opposition-run local authorities, which have failed to maintain the roads properly.

According to a statement released by the Ministry of Transport and Communications, the government will soon launch a comprehensive road rehabilitation program that will focus on improving the condition of the country's major roads. The program will involve the construction of new roads, as well as the repair and maintenance of existing ones.

The ministry stated that the neglect of the roads by opposition-run local authorities has resulted in significant problems for commuters, including potholes, poor drainage, and inadequate lighting. These issues have made it difficult for people to travel safely and efficiently, and have also had a negative impact on the country's economy.

The government has acknowledged that the road network in Zimbabwe is in dire need of repair, and has committed to investing significant resources into improving the condition of the roads. The ministry stated that the road rehabilitation program will be implemented in phases, with the focus being on the major cities and towns first.

It is worth noting that this is not the first time that the government has made promises to improve the country's road network. In the past, similar promises have been made, but there have been concerns about the lack of progress in implementing these plans. However, it remains to be seen whether this latest announcement will result in tangible improvements for commuters and the economy as a whole.
