World Bank VP visits Zimbabwe

The World Bank (WB) is an international financial institution that provides loans and grants to countries around the world for economic development and poverty reduction. Victoria Kwakwa is the Vice-President for Eastern and Southern Africa at the World Bank. During her visit to Zimbabwe, she will be working with the government and other stakeholders to develop a new country engagement framework that will guide the WB's support for Zimbabwe in the coming years.

The WB has been providing support to Zimbabwe for many years, with a focus on areas such as agriculture, education, health, and infrastructure development. In recent years, the WB has also been working closely with the government of Zimbabwe to address challenges related to debt sustainability and economic growth.

During her visit, Ms. Kwakwa will meet with key government officials, civil society organizations, and other stakeholders to discuss the country's development priorities and challenges, and to explore ways in which the WB can support Zimbabwe in achieving its goals. She will also be visiting various projects and programs that the WB is currently supporting in the country.

The new country engagement framework that Ms. Kwakwa will be developing during her visit will provide a roadmap for the WB's engagement with Zimbabwe in the coming years, outlining areas of focus, priorities, and expected outcomes. The framework will also help to ensure that the WB's support is aligned with Zimbabwe's own development goals and priorities.
