The Nintendo Switch sold almost 30 million consoles during the pandemic

Nintendo reported its earnings for the January-to-March quarter of 2021, and its fiscal year ending in March, on May 6, 2021. The company says sales of Nintendo Switch software and hardware both shot up 37 percent in the past 12 months, compared to the preceding year, and the Switch’s 84.59 million units sold since its March 2017 launch trails the Wii, whose sales history spanned 13 years, by 17.04 million units lifetime.
