Baseball returns to DeKalb this week in Huskie sports

NIU (Northern Illinois University) baseball is gearing up for its long-awaited home debut of the 2023 season at Ralph McKinzie Field located at Walt and Janice Owens Park in DeKalb, Illinois. The Huskies were originally scheduled to begin their home schedule earlier in the season but had to postpone several games due to various reasons such as weather conditions and opposing team scheduling conflicts.

The first home game for NIU will be on Wednesday, April 3, against the University of Illinois Chicago (UIC) Flames. The Mid-American Conference (MAC) matchup is set to begin at 3 p.m., and fans can follow the action live through NIU All-Access or by using SIDEARM Stats.

Following the midweek contest against UIC, the Huskies will welcome the Bowling Green State University Falcons for a three-game series starting on Friday, April 5.
