The original digital watch button foretold the battery life struggle of modern smartwatches

Hamilton’s new PSR digital watch — a recreation of the original Pulsar Time Computer, the first digital watch ever sold — had the same battery life problems as modern smartwatches like the Apple Watch. It solved that issue the same way, too: with a button.
