307th Bomb Wing brings in three new squadron commanders [Image 3 of 8]

The 307th Bomb Wing is a unit of the United States Air Force (USAF) that operates out of Whiteman Air Force Base in Missouri. On January 6, 2024, the wing welcomed three new squadron commanders, including Lt. Col. Millard Matthews, III, who was named commander of the 93rd Bomb Squadron.

Lt. Col. Matthews has over 285 combat hours in the B-52 Stratofortress, a long-range heavy bomber aircraft used by the USAF for strategic bombing missions. He is highly experienced and respected within the military community, and his leadership skills are expected to be instrumental in guiding the 93rd Bomb Squadron through its operations.

The unveiling of Lt. Col. Matthews' name on the unit's flagship was a significant event, marking his official assumption of command. He was accompanied by his wife Karen and son Millard "Paco" IV. The ceremony was attended by members of the 307th Bomb Wing, as well as other military personnel and dignitaries.
