TSA calls in backup officers as absences of unpaid airport screeners rise

The Transportation Security Administration is calling up reinforcements that normally assist with natural disasters to counter a shortfall in airport screeners, unpaid in the partial shutdown, who have been absent in higher-than-usual numbers.
