Activision Blizzard’s gender discrimination lawsuit, explained
Activision Blizzard, maker of World of Warcraft, Diablo, and Call of Duty, was sued July 20, 2021 by the California Department of Fair Employment and Housing over 10 allegations of workplace discrimination, sex and gender-based harassment, unequal pay disparities, and other bad practices. Blizzard Entertainment’s president has since stepped down, and CEO Bobby Kotick has apologized for the company’s insensitive response to initial news accounts.
