U.S., Finland, Czechia advance to women's world hockey semifinals

The 2021 IIHF Women's World Championship is currently underway in Herning and Frederikshavn, Denmark. The United States women's ice hockey team, who are the reigning champions, continued their dominance in the tournament with a convincing 10-0 victory over Japan in the quarterfinals on Thursday, April 8, 2021, at the Utica Memorial Auditorium in Utica, New York. This was a part of a double-header event as part of the tournament being played outside of Denmark due to travel restrictions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Abbey Murphy, a forward for the US team, was instrumental in their victory with a standout performance. She scored two goals and provided one assist in the game.
