“It’s Thanks to Him…” – Luis Enrique Pays Tribute to Christophe Galtier After Winning French Super Cup

The French Super Cup, also known as the Trophee des Champions, is an annual football match played between the winners of the Ligue 1 and the Coupe de France in France. This year's match was held on January 2nd, 2024, at the Stade de France in Paris, with Paris Saint Germain (PSG) facing off against Toulouse.

PSG, led by manager Luis Enrique, started the game strongly, with Lee Kang-in scoring the latest goal for PSG to lead Toulouse 3-0 after 45 minutes. The second half was just as intense, with Kylian Mbappe adding another goal for PSG in the 61st minute, leaving Toulouse struggling to keep up.

Despite the excitement of winning the match and starting the new year with a title, Enrique took a moment to pay tribute to his former assistant coach, Christophe Galtier. Galtier had been with PSG for several seasons before leaving to take over as manager of Lille in the summer of 2023.

Enrique praised Galtier's contributions to PSG's success during their time together, saying "I want to thank Christophe for everything he did for this team. He was an important part of our success and I will always be grateful for his hard work and dedication."

Galtier had also expressed his gratitude towards Enrique, saying "Luis is a great manager and a true professional. I learned a lot from him during my time at PSG and I wish him all the best in the future."

Overall, the French Super Cup match was a thrilling affair, with PSG emerging victorious thanks to their excellent play and teamwork. Enrique's tribute to Galtier was a heartfelt reminder of the important role that coaches and assistants play in the success of any football team.
