Woman and 2 children killed in head-on crash on 15 Freeway in rainy San Bernardino County desert

According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), a tragic head-on collision occurred on the 15 Freeway in the rainy San Bernardino County desert, resulting in the deaths of a woman and two children. The incident took place around 3:30 p.m. on a day with heavy rainfall.

The unfortunate incident involved a Kia sedan that was traveling south along the freeway. As the driver navigated through the wet conditions, the vehicle lost traction due to the slick road surface. The Kia began to hydroplane, causing it to veer out of its lane and cross into the northbound lanes.

The out-of-control Kia collided head-on with an oncoming vehicle, resulting in a devastating impact. The woman behind the wheel of the Kia, as well as two children who were passengers in the vehicle, were pronounced dead at the scene. One of the deceased children was identified as a 7-year-old boy from Los Angeles.

The other vehicle involved in the collision sustained significant damage but thankfully, its occupants were able to escape with injuries that were not considered life-threatening. The CHP reported that all parties involved were wearing seatbelts at the time of the collision.
