Lakers rally to conclude Hallway Series with a win over Clippers

The Los Angeles Lakers and the Los Angeles Clippers faced off in the final game of their Hallway Series on Monday night at Staples Center. The Lakers trailed by 21 points in the fourth quarter, but with a strong comeback effort led by LeBron James, they ultimately emerged victorious with a final score of 108-97.

James scored 35 points in the game, including 14 in the fourth quarter, to help lead the Lakers' rally. He also had eight rebounds and six assists. Anthony Davis added 26 points and 10 rebounds for the Lakers, while Russell Westbrook chipped in with 17 points and nine assists.

The Clippers, on the other hand, were led by Kawhi Leonard, who scored 28 points and had eight rebounds. Paul George added 23 points and seven rebounds, while Patrick Beverley had a strong defensive game with 10 steals and four blocks.

Despite the Lakers' impressive comeback, the game was not without its share of controversy. In the fourth quarter, Clippers forward Montrezl Harrell was ejected for a flagrant foul on Lakers forward Davis. Harrell had already been warned earlier in the game for a similar incident.

In the end, the Lakers' strong play and James' leadership helped them overcome the deficit and secure a hard-fought victory over their rivals. The win marked the first time the Lakers had won the Hallway Series since 2018, when they defeated the Clippers in five games in the Western Conference Semifinals.
