Tamil Nadu bags investments worth Rs 6.6 lakh crore at GIM 2024: CM Stalin

Tamil Nadu has secured investments worth Rs 6.6 lakh crore during the Global Investors Meet (GIM) 2024 held in Chennai. The state's Chief Minister, M.K. Stalin, made the announcement at the event, which was attended by over 1,500 investors from around the world.

The investment proposals announced at GIM 2024 are expected to create 26.9 lakh direct and indirect jobs in Tamil Nadu. This includes investments in sectors such as information technology (IT), automotive, aerospace, and renewable energy.

Some of the major investments announced at GIM 2024 include:

1. Infosys: Infosys has committed to investing Rs 35,000 crore in Tamil Nadu over the next five years. The investment will create 1.5 lakh direct jobs and support the growth of the state's IT sector.

2. Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL): HMIL has announced an investment of Rs 30,000 crore in Tamil Nadu over the next five years. The investment will create 15,000 direct jobs and support the growth of the state's automotive industry.

3. Airbus: Airbus has committed to investing Rs 20,000 crore in Tamil Nadu over the next five years. The investment will create 10,000 direct jobs and support the growth of the state's aerospace industry.

4. Tata Steel: Tata Steel has announced an investment of Rs 15,000 crore in Tamil Nadu over the next five years. The investment will create 5,000 direct jobs and support the growth of the state's steel industry.

5. NTPC Limited: NTPC Limited has committed to investing Rs 12,000 crore in Tamil Nadu over the next five years. The investment will create 4,000 direct jobs and support the growth of the state's renewable energy sector.
